2013 Spring Step Up to Success Conference

The Step Up to Success Conference, sponsored by Los Barrios de Amarillo, is an annual event held for local and Region 16 Middle & High school students. For over three decades this event has earned the trust of our Panhandle area community and attracts over 800 students annually. Last May, Los Barrios awarded 17 scholarships to worthy graduating seniors attending Amarillo College, West Texas A&M University, Frank Phillips College, Clarendon College and Wayland Baptist University (Amarillo Campus).

On March 20th, middle school students will hear from top notch career professionals and receive valuable information regarding 2 year, 4 year, or skilled trade programs. The overall message is that college and careers are waiting for you and our community supports your ongoing success through a variety of educational opportunities, training and service learning.

Los Barrios de Amarillo is a 501c3 organization under the auspices of the Wesley Community Center. Volunteers come from all over the community each year to make the event a success for students. We thank you and appreciate your continuous support of this event which helps increase our efforts to promote higher education.
